This will help them in refining their researches and making sure that they are on the right track. Details of the seminar as follows:

MOU signing between UTeM and IBM

On June 1st 2015,  Universiti Teknikal Melaka (UTeM) announced  that it will use IBM technologies for research and development. UTeM students will conduct research and development in the areas of security testing, software engineering and promote the use of Bluemix and SoftLayer for mobile application development. Representing IBM at the signing ceremony is IBM Malaysia CFO Wong Chiun Chiek while UTeM is represented by vice chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Shahrin Sahibuddin.

According to Prof Datuk Dr Shahrin, the collaboration with IBM was mooted following IBM Corporate Services Corp (CSC) program in Melaka in 2012. The CSC team consulted with the state’s health department and World Youth Foundation and participated in a knowledge sharing dialogue at UTeM. Since then, IBM has worked closely with UTeM’s Innovative Software System and Services research group led by Dr Massila Kamalrudin.


“Thet assets and expertise from IBM Academic Initiative will help UTeM further its skills and knowledge in ICT, ” said Prof Datuk Dr Shahrin.


UTeM also aspires to establish a cloud-based testing laboratory as part of its vision of becoming a hub of software engineering research within the Southern Region of Malaysia and to be among IBM Centre of Excellent (CoE) for Research.

Seeking collaboration with Cognitive Engineering Research Group (CERG), Universitas Katolik Atma Jaya, Indonesia

CoMNetSys is in the middle of negotiations to undersign a letter of intent covering research collaboration with Cognitive Engineering Research Group (CERG), Universitas Katolik Atma Jaya, Indonesia.

It is hoped that this collaboration will open up further areas and opportunities for joint research between both research groups.

Meeting with State of Malacca Head of ICT

This meeting between researchers from CoMNetSys and the Head of ICT for the state of Malacca on the 22nd June was successful in exploring research opportunities and possible collaboration with the state government.

Specifically, discussions were focused on two key areas of sensor networks and green IT.

Maklumat Permohonan Geran UTeM 2015

DATE FOR RESEARCH GRANT APPLICATION 2015-UTeM

Berikut ini adalah tentatif tarikh untuk permohonan geran-geran penyelidikan.

 

PEMBUKAAN SKIM GERAN PENYELIDIKAN PEMBANGUNAN PROTOTAIP (PRGS) FASA 1/2015

Assalamualaikum dan Salam Sejahtera.

YBhg.Datuk/Dato’/Prof./Dr.,

MAKLUMAN PEMBUKAAN PERMOHONAN SKIM GERAN PENYELIDIKAN PEMBANGUNAN PROTOTAIP (PRGS) FASA 1/2015

Dengan hormatnya saya merujuk kepada perkara di atas.

2.         Sukacita dimaklumkan bahawa pihak Kementerian sedang membuka permohonan geran penyelidikan bagi menjalankan projek-projek penyelidikan pembangunan prototaip di bawah Skim Geran Penyelidikan Pembangunan Prototaip (PRGS) Fasa 1/2015 kepada para penyelidik mulai  1 April 2015 SECARA MANUAL. (Bukan melalui system Mygrants)

 3.         Untuk makluman, YBhg. Datuk/Dato’/Prof./Dr., pihak Kementerian akan memberi pertimbangan kepada permohonan projek-projek penyelidikan PRGS Fasa 1/2015 berdasarkan kriteria-kriteria seperti berikut:-

 i)     kertas cadangan projek penyelidikan yang menepati kriteria penyelidikan pembangunan prototaip, mantap serta lengkap mengikut Garis Panduan PRGS;

 ii)    kos projek penyelidikan yang dipohon tidak melebihi RM500,000.00 dengan tempoh penyelidikan maksimum sehingga dua (2) tahun sahaja;

 iii)   setiap Ketua Penyelidik hanya boleh mengemukakan satu (1) permohonan sahaja bagi Fasa 1/2015; dan

 iv)   membuat saringan di peringkat universiti dengan minimum dua (2) panel penilai bagi setiap projek.

 4.         Satu (1) salinan permohonan berbentuk “hardcopy” dan “softcopy” hendaklah dihantar MELALUI PENGURUS-PENGURUS COE kepada Pn. Marshazliyana Md Sharip di CRIM selewat-lewatnya pada 27 APRIL 2015 (ISNIN) SEBELUM JAM 5.00 PETANG.

 5.         Proses penilaian peringkat Universiti akan dijalankan pada 29 April 2015 hingga 7 Mei 2015. Hanya kertas kerja yang telah dinilai oleh panel & diakui oleh YBhg TNCPI akan dihantar ke Kementerian.
