Beside all the subjects we offer in the curriculum, we also offer
various short courses. Usually the courses are conducted during
semester break, but we have plan to offer short courses throughout

Learners will get familiar with the Adobe InDesign work area, work with tools, document windows, pasteboard, and panels. Then, learners will learn how to set up a new document, create master pages, and set column and guides. With InDesign CS3, learners can import text, thread text through frames and edit it within the frames.
Adobe Photoshop

This course provides you with the concepts and skills to use Adobe Photoshop CS4 effectively. You get hands-on practice working with basic through creative techniques to get the most out of your experience. You
will learn layer basics, photo retouching and image editing. Whether you are a designer, illustrator,
photographer, video artist, webmaster or just a beginner, Photoshop offers you many opportunities to
make your images look great.
CCNA: Cisco Certified Network Associate Certification
5 days, Level 1
The CCNA course offered is based on CCNA Academy curriculum. The curriculum consists of four CCNA courses, all of which prepare the students to sit for the CCNA professional exam (Code: 640-802). For the purpose of this training, only the first course, Network Fundamentals will be offered. This course has no prereq¬uisites. It is a prerequisite for the other three courses, which will be offered later for those who pass the first course.
Data Analysis using SPSS
2 days, Basic Level
The training is specialized on the SPSS 13.0
(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software package
utilizing a practical approach with each participant is given one PC
to be used throughout the training. The participants are exposed to
the skills needed to use SPSS for numerical or graphical data
analysis.
Fedora 9 for Beginner and Intermediate

Level
This course is aimed primarily for students and users who are new to Linux-based operating system. It provides the users with introduction to Fedora 9 operating systems. The hands-on practice is to equip the users with a basic range of skills required for using the commands in manipulating systems especially in Fedora Core Linux operating system platform. The emphasis is on familiarizing users with the range of commands, rather than too much emphasis on using the GUI menu.
Java Programming with J2SE

The participants will be taught in
writing applications using Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE). The
course will cover the syntax of the Java language,
Object-Oriented Programming in Java, Threading, Input-Output and
Exception. Participants will also be taught the various aspects of
the design and development of Java applications.

This course will teach the learner about creating projects in VB.NET. The learner will be able to define classes and declare objects and methods. In addition, this course will also discuss arrays and collections. It will also orient the learner on the commonly used programming constructs, such as comparison operators, loops, and if-then statements.
Writing Technical Report

3-D Studio Max
3 days, Basic to Intermediate
Level
The participants are exposed to the techniques in
developing basic models in 2D and 3D. The course will also
cover animation, lighting, camera usage in 3D environment and
rendering. Each participant is given a dedicated high-end PC to
apply the techniques being taught.
Fees
Registration Fees for all courses offered are inclusive of
meals (Morning & Afternoon refreshments, and Lunch) and
full training documentation. The fee does not include
accommodation.
Send three or more delegates from the same organization and each
delegate is entitled to the Special Fee. This fee also
applies to individual students. To further
develop technical competencies within our organization,
individual UTeM staffs also enjoy this rate.
Payments are in the form of Check or Money/Postal

Payment terms: Fee must be paid before the event. The organizer
reserves the rights to cancel or reschedule/change the time, dates,
and/or venues of an event due to unforeseen circumstances without
prior notice. Every effort, however, will be made to inform
participants of the change. Fees will be refunded in full, if a
course is cancelled by the organizer.
Certificates
These training programmes are designed to meet to your continuing
professional development. A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded at the end of the programme.

Time Schedule
The courses start at 9:00 am and ends at 5:00 pm daily. Please
arrive at 8:30 am on day one to allow time for registration and
collection of documentation.
Lunch is from 12:30 pm to 2:00 pm. There will be two 15 minutes
refreshment breaks at 10:30 am and 3:30 pm.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made in writing by fax, email or post.
If you are unable to attend,
- A substitute delegate is welcomed at no additional charge
- You will receive a full refund less 10% administration charge
if cancellation is received in writing more than 14 days before
the event.
No cancellations will be accepted within 14 days of the date of
event.
Venue
Specific venue and direction of each course will be informed to
all registered participants by the respective Course Coordinator.
