Medal of Excellence in the 2013 World Skills Competition (WSC 2013)

Melaka July 23 – Student Technical University Malaysia Melaka (UTEM) once again make the country proud at the international level when reaching Medal of Excellence in the 2013 World Skills Competition (WSC 2013) which took place in Leipzig, Germany recently.

Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FTMK), Zawawi Embong represent Malaysia to match his skills by participating in IT Network System Administration category.

Chairman of the Competition Committee FTMK, Syariffanor Hisham said, Zawawi selected to represent the country in the competition when displaying competence in the field of IT network in the Malaysian Skills Competition 2012 in addition to showing excellent performance in the ASEAN Skills Competition in Jakarta.

Although Zawawi did not win a gold medal, his performance at the competition thus increase accordingly praised UTeM name and country to a higher level.

This is very encouraging because the participants from around the world to highlight their expertise in their respective categories, “he said.

Syariffanor said it now in well-prepared to face the Malaysian Skills Competition 2013 in September.

We will continue to forge FTMK students for success in Malaysia and ASEAN UTeM Skills Challenge 2014 (ASC 2014) in Hanoi, Vietnam and so on at WSC 2015 in Sao Paolo, Brazil, “he said.

Meanwhile, Zawawi said the investment represented the country into the match was a memorable and rewarding experience due to the opportunity to compete with international players.

Rival in the competition is very fierce, but the indomitable spirit and guidance of a coach who gave me the confidence to give the best.

As a result, the medal of excellence can be achieved and I am particularly grateful to all the faculty which gives me confidence to go far, “he said.
