Dean’s Foreword – Message from the Dean

All praise be to Allah, the Almighty, the Most Gracious, and the Most Merciful.

On behalf of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FTMK), I am delighted to extend a warm welcome to all of you.

The Faculty of Information and Communication Technology (FTMK) was established in May 2001 as the fifth faculty of Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (formerly Kolej Universiti Teknikal Kebangsaan Malaysia). Guided by its vision, FTMK aspires to be a leading center of excellence in ICT education, research, and services, driven by creativity and innovation. The faculty’s mission is to produce highly competent ICT professionals through world-class, application-oriented education, supported by impactful research and strategic university-industry partnerships, in line with Malaysia’s aspirations.

FTMK is built on a strong academic foundation, organized into five departments: Software Engineering, Applied Data Engineering, Computer Systems and Communication, Interactive Media, and the Diploma Department. The faculty offers a wide range of programs, including undergraduate degrees in fields such as Game Technology, Networking, Software Development, Database Management, Interactive Media, and Cloud Computing.

At the postgraduate level, FTMK provides master’s programs in areas like Internetworking Technology, Software Engineering, Database Technology, Multimedia Computing, Security Science, Data Science, and Mobile Development, as well as advanced research degrees, including the Doctor of Information Technology and Ph.D. in Information and Communication Technology. For those seeking foundational ICT expertise, FTMK also offers a Diploma in Information Technology.
